Snippets

Updated over a year ago

Snippets are predefined pieces of text or templates provided by a company to make writing easier and more efficient. Whenever a new line is started, the user can insert a snippet containing frequently used text that does not need to be rewritten each time. These snippets are agreed upon during Typewise setup in the company, and the team leader has always the ability to edit and add them.

Using the SNIPPET_KEY key (usually #, but it can be changed by the company), the user can open the snippet menu where it is possible to search and browse snippets in the knowledge base.

Just by start typing, Typewise will show snippets that match the searching term. By default, Typewise orders snippets based on the usage, the most frequent ones are on the top of the list.

A snippet can be inserted into a document or code editor in a couple of ways. One way is to simply click on the snippet with your mouse. Another way is to use your arrow keys to navigate to the snippet you want to insert and then press the Enter key. Once the snippet is inserted, it can be customised or edited to better fit the context of the document or code you are working on.
