Create and invite a new user to Typewise
Typewise can only be used by registered users, who will be invited via e-mail. As an Admin, you can easily add and invite new users to Typewise at any time. To do so, first visit the Typewise Admin Portal.
1. Open Users tab
Navigate to the "Users" tab on top of the console. This will open the user depository, listing all your users who have access to Typewise.
2. Click on + New user
Click on the blue button "+New user" to create a user account. A new window will open where you can insert all user details. Make sure all data is inserted correctly.
Important, define the "Role" of the user, to assign the respective user rights (see section below on different User Roles). Select the Team the user should be part of (optional).
Once your are done, click on "Create user" to add the user to the depository. If you haven't deactivated the option "Send invitation to Typewise", the user will receive an
e-mail invitation to setup Typewise on their device.
3. Manually invite users to Typewise (Optional)
Alternatively, you can also send invitations manually after you have created multiple users. You can do that by selecting the users you want to send an invitation to and then click on the "Send invitation" button on the top right of the user depository. You can either select users individually, or bulk select users. The invitation will only be sent to users who haven't received an invitation before, preventing users from receiving multiple invitations.
Check the activation status of each user
Each user will receive an invitation to install and setup Typewise via e-mail. Up to three reminders are sent to the users, if they don't install and setup Typewise. Each new user will be asked to conduct a 2-min virtual and fully automatic onboarding. The virtual onboarding tutorial can be revisited at any time here: https://welcome.typewise.app/
1. Check onboarding status
First visit the user depository. In the column "Onboarding", you can check which users have conducted their virtual onboarding. The three statuses are listed and explained below:
Done: User has successfully completed the onboarding tutorial
In progress: User has started the onboarding tutorial but hasn't finished
Invited: User has received the invitation but hasn't started the onboarding tutorial
2. Check last access
First visit the user depository. In the column "Last Access", you can check when a user has used Typewise the last time. The last access is indicated in days. If there is a blank, it means that a user has never logged in to Typewise. Inactive users, who haven't used Typewise longer than 30 days, will receive a friendly reminder via e-mail.
User roles
You can assign different roles to users, to enable certain access rights for them.
The different roles are listed below:
Agent: Standard user who can only use the Typewise extension with its core features
Snippet Manager: User who can additionally access the Admin Portal but can only edit and manage Snippets there
Admin: User who has full access to the Admin Portal and all of its functionalities. We typically recommend this role only for team leads and management staff
